WHILE SO MUCH HAS CHANGED THIS YEAR IN OUR LIVES, ONE OF THE THINGS YOU CAN STILL COUNT ON IS EGYPT STAR BAKERY! 

Based in tradition, Egypt Star Bakery has been in operation for over eighty years. They have four Lehigh Valley based stores in Allentown, Whitehall, Coplay, and Emmaus! 

While they no longer deliver baked goods to your doorstep, they still bake in the same gas, coal, and oil operated brick ovens that have been in the bakery for over 8 decades. Currently, they only bake in the Allentown location for all four locations. 

This family-run business has employed Lehigh Valley locals for many decades. Some employees are even second and third generation. “Our employees are like family to us,” says Beth Sipos, “they are all important in keeping the bakery running. The saying ‘it takes a village’ could not be truer in this business.” In addition to loyal employees, Egypt Star Bakery has a very loyal customer base. Every day, people come for their freshly cooked, traditional, handmade breads and other assorted baked goods. Their breads are very popular with longtime Lehigh Valley families, especially the rye and pumpernickel. 

The bakery strives to be as diverse in their products as the Lehigh Valley is becoming. Some of their more popular items include Moravian buns, challah bread, fresh baked rolls, and sugar cookies. Every year for “Fat Tuesday” they produce mass amounts of their fasnacht donuts. Their cakes would be a great addition to any party! Egypt Star Bakery is a Lehigh Valley staple with their baked goods and sweet treats!
