Fit Right Into The Family

The cycling community is like a family. Whether you like to ride 5 miles or 50 miles you are a part of it. Heather and Chad Balliet, owners of South Mountain Cycle & Café, are always excited to welcome new members to the family.

From the moment you walk into their family-owned business, you can feel it’s inviting atmosphere. They are celebrating their one year anniversary in their recently renovated store packed with bikes from brands Giant, Liv, Momentum & Cadex, accessories, and a café.

“It has been an amazing year. We have enjoyed making this space our own and really being able to offer more bike options to the community,” Chad says. “And over the last year we’ve continued to bring in more products that we see our customers need and request.”

Over the last 7 years that Heather and Chad have owned SMC&C they have added so many more members to their “family”. Growing up in a family business, Heather and Chad value the importance and support of each and every customer. Every staff member believes it too. It has set their business apart from the competition.

You might work with Chad, Jorge, or Scott to find your perfect bike or get that nagging repair finally taken care of. They take the time to understand exactly how you ride and fit you for the best bike for comfort and maximum performance. You can even trade in your old bike or pickup a used one. They are happy to service any bicycle, any make, any model, no matter where it was purchased.

Heather takes pride in inventing new drinks for the café menu with so many options you could create hundreds. Every visit she will get your regular order perfect or help you find something new to try. You can especially taste the homemade love when you enjoy one of the delicious smoothies, lattes, pastries or new muffins.

Rooted in community, the Balliet’s are proud to be longtime Emmaus residents. “We love being part of this neighborhood and all the events Emmaus has to offer,” Heather says. “We can’t wait to celebrate many more milestones here.”

And on some days you might even catch Heather and Chad’s toddler running around testing out bikes or be greeted by their friendly chocolate lab Diesel waiting to “sweep” up any muffin crumbs that may fall.
